Origami Sushi (Tampa)

She says:
Just a quick post. I had lunch with some co-workers today at Origami Sushi on Hillsborough & Himes (close to work for us). I had been there once before a couple years ago and I’d honestly forgotten about it but I guess my co-workers go there pretty regularly. It’s a very small restaurant.

I had a bento box (“Box A”) that came with miso soup, salad, a California roll, two pieces of “crab stick,” seaweed salad, two pieces of that egg omelet thing (I never can remember the name), a crab rangoon, and four sashimi pieces (tuna, yellowtail, and salmon). Not sure how much it was but I think in the neighborhood of $10 (one of my co-workers picked up my lunch for helping her out). The thing that impressed me the most was the tuna sashimi; it was very fresh. The crab rangoon was pretty good, too. I think they put a little curry in it. My co-workers all got sushi rolls and I was impressed by the size of the rolls but I didn’t try any of theirs.

Overall, Origami Sushi is average. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there but I’d go for lunch during work.

About the couple: We are thirtysomethings. We’ve known each other since 2001 when we were in college together and we got married in 2009. About the wife: She’s been an accountant since 2004 and loves numbers maybe a little too much. She eats and cooks and bakes and drinks and constantly has to watch her weight because of it. About the husband: He’s a government employee… for 9 years… he likes nice people who don’t talk too much and FOOD!!! He’s a fatty who loves beer, wine and clear spirits. He likes to cook, usually stuff that is too hard for him but usually turns out well. he tries to watch his weight as it goes by at the speed of light but can’t seem to see it… oh and he loves the Wifey. she rocks.
