This foodie has just been introduced to a most fantastic food: angel food candy (also called angel candy). I think this must be a midwestern thing because the co-worker who just gave it to me said she got it from Green Bay, and I’ve never had it or heard of it before and I’m not that familiar with midwestern traditions. The texture of the inside is like a malted milk ball but it’s caramel flavored because the inside is mostly sugar and corn syrup (baking soda is added at the end for the fluffy crunchiness). It looks fairly easy to make (as long as you have a candy thermometer), so I’m going to give it a try!
