Day of the Week: Saturday, 2/16
Total Bill: $20
Breakdown: 2 orders of tacos, 1 sandwich
Verdict: I’d definitely like to try more of their food.
Just a quick post about Graffeaties food truck. I was running errands in the Carrollwood area near Northdale and they were in a parking lot (a barber shop was having a mini-classic car show and invited them to come to the event). I never can resist a food truck, so before I headed home I picked up two orders of pork tacos ($7 each order, two per order) and a turkey Cuban reuben ($6). Each item came with multigrain tortilla chips.
The pork tacos were awesome. Corn tortillas containing very tender, juicy pulled pork, topped with a tasty salsa verde, some avocado aioli, cilantro, and Mexican cheese (queso fresco, I’m guessing). They usually come with some cabbage, too, but Hubby hates cabbage so I had them leave that off. I would absolutely recommend these and would get them again for sure.
The turkey Cuban reuben was basically a turkey reuben on Cuban bread with pickles. It was good but a little blah, especially after the tacos, so I don’t think I’d get that again. I’d just get another order of tacos!
One thing I HAVE to get better about is taking a snap of food trucks’ menu boards. My memory isn’t that good and, of course, most trucks don’t have their own websites, and even when they do they don’t post menus because they change things up so often. (One of the advantages of having a truck instead a full restaurant, after all.) I did do better at the food truck rally we attended Saturday (post to follow soon…).
Anyway, Graffeaties is tasty and the lady working the truck was super awesome (which I think is a requirement for food truck owners/employees because I have yet to meet a food trucker who wasn’t awesome), so definitely keep an eye out for them and give them a try.
